The Birthday Flag is out for Himself's birthday this month
Timex, the chipmunk came back. He didn't turn into hawk chow.
Three crows came to visit. One for sadness, two for joy, 3 for a girl...well, that ship sailed two decades ago.
The first clump of Wishes
Passing of the Daffodils
The Pollenator arrived with a vengeance
Violets and Bugle flowers
Last week, Rocky, the flying squirrel, jumped on top of the wishing well and flew to the top of the shepherd's hook. He managed to destroy one of the bird feeders to get to the seed. We bought new bird feeders (they are cheap at $5) and I moved the hook further away from the wishing well.
Rocky 1, CJ, 0 first round
Rocky 1, CJ 1, second round
Rocky was still able to make the leap. He chewed the bottom of the new feeder and all the seed fell to the ground. Fortunately, he chewed in such a way that the feeder was able to be repaired.
Rocky 2, CJ 1, third round
So I moved the hook to the middle of the front yard. Far away from the wishing well. It's now closer to the front window to provide up close and personal entertainment on KTTY television.
The Snowball bushes are about to avalanche
The Japanese Maple just suddenly leafed out
Buttercups and pollen
Himself put his baseball wreath up
The Goldfinch didn't have any trouble navigating to the new feeder location.
Rocky, 2, CJ 2, fourth round
Storm clouds moving in.
How does your garden grow?
Lookin' good! Spring is finally springing!
ReplyDeleteAfter waiting and waiting, it just suddenly popped
DeleteOh it was such a competition with the squirrels in AR and the raccoons... Hubby took on the challenge! lol Now actually miss them.. no squirrels here.. no trees... except down by the river that goes through town.. Here there be 5lined lizards.. and Horney Toads galore.. Both so fun for the grand kids... Hugs! deb
ReplyDeleteI don't mind the squirrels eating the bird seed. I'm Italian so Abbondanza, everyone eats. I just wish they wouldn't destroy the bird feeders. I toss a generous amount of seed on the ground for the ground feeders. This guy was just being a greedy guts
DeleteHappy Birthday to Himself. It seems that every day is a happy day for the squirrel!
ReplyDeleteJust like every day is a happy day for kitties

ReplyDeleteThanks for the advice, Mack
DeleteAh the pollen. It's brutal, isn't it? It's looking good. I'm curious why the sandbox has cinder blocks holding down the roof? But it's looking great otherwise, all green and like spring. And that's a cool baseball wreath too. Stay dry!
ReplyDeleteThe sandbox isn't a sandbox anymore. There's not sand just a few cinder blocks. It marks the spot where the septic system cover is. The cinder blocks prevent the "roof" from being blown around by strong winds.
DeleteThe baseball wreath steals the show!! I still wait with planting, it has cooled down a lot!
ReplyDeleteHimself will be pleased to hear that because he made the wreath.
DeleteP.S. Love your background!
ReplyDeletePustelblumen! My favorite.
DeleteRocky is very determined. He hates to lose more than you.
ReplyDeleteHappy early birthday to Himself. That baseball wreath is outstanding. I'd call it a home run.
Himself will be pleased to hear that
DeleteHappy Belated Birthday to Himself. Sorry, I have been trying to get caught up on everyone's blog posts.
ReplyDeleteNaughty boy that Rocky. :(
