How Does Your Garden Grow?

This year, we decided to participate in No Mow May. This is to give native wildflowers that attract pollinators as first food a chance to grow. Our wish came true, not that we had much control over the situation. It has rained nearly every other day the entire month of May. Days where it didn't rain, the ground was too wet

No mow May paid off, and the bees are loving the Blue Bugleweed

and the Snowball bushes

    1. We planted them. They were supposed to be kept trimmed in a roundish, ball. I can't seem to get the hang of it so they are a bit unruly. Medium.

  4. Your lawn looks like a beautiful garden. We finally mowed yesterday, so mostly did a no mow May. And you're right about the weather. This weekend certainly doesn't feel anything like summer. I hope you're enjoying yours though. A bit warmer tomorrow-hopefully.

  6. Love that you joined No Mow May! It's amazing how nature responds when we step back and let it thrive. Even with all the rain, it's heartening to know pollinators are getting a boost. Sometimes the best gardening is letting the wild take the lead. Beautiful effort!

  7. I would LOVE no mow May because I have already mowed five times this year. Sadly in Wichita, if your grass grows over 5 inches tall, the City fines you and you go to court over it. It happened to one of the people who live on my block. You are lucky you have an understanding community.
